Just choose a surface, pick your glass and put it all together. The average time for creating a mosaic is 45 minutes to an hour and a half, and it will be ready to take with you. This is a relaxing activity for adults, but kids love it too. This studio also offers scheduled classes in stained-glass making and fusing and other art techniques. That Stained Glass Place sells gifts and home décor plus stained glass and art supplies, and they do commissions.

The candy makers at The Fudgery make their dense, delicious fudge in copper kettles in the store, and the aromas are heavenly. Watch them make a batch, then choose from a variety of tempting flavors, even sugar-free. This fudge must be good: The Fudgery started on the Outer Banks in 1980 and now has a veritable fudge empire of 30 stores around the country.

They specialize in antique and estate jewelry, including some pieces from the Edwardian, Victorian, Georgian and Art Deco periods. Antique jewelry is getting harder to find, so those who love it know this store is special. Yesterday’s Jewels also sells some new jewelry, sterling silver pieces and silver and gold charms, but their main focus is on antiques and estate pieces.
